Adventures in Catastrophe
After a few weeks of prolonging and a constant red light telling me it’s time to change my oil (man i can rack up the miles) i finally took the plunge and got an oil change.. Thankfully there is a place at work where this can be done while i’m at the office so I don’t have to bother waiting.. and this.. is where my problems begin.. Upon my picking up my car i rush out to get home and my car starts making noise when I turn.. I get out of my car and what has happened?.. those morons rotated my tires (i had been told and they did it without me asking) without realizing that the back tires were bigger than the front tires.. oh man.. was it obvious.. yup.. you can tell by just looking at the car that the front tires have no place being on the back and vice versa.. wow.. I’m taking it back tomorrow to be fixed… who would’ve realized that mechanics weren’t good at spatial recognition..
Well.. after the fiasco with my car I come home to the smell of acrid burning metal.. What the hey now?.. well.. it turns out that sometime today my server, Aleph, decided to blow something, most likely the power supply taking with it my email server and long term storage drives.. crap.. so now I am without email (nulledge.net) for the time being. Until I either replace the power supply or build a replacement server..
So all in all a productive day.. what does the future hold for me.. well.. trying to restore a server for the three day weekend seems to be on the top of my list.. but that.. is as they say.. that.
