Hope for Fire Fighters
by Ranil on Jun.06, 2008
Downtown Los Angeles played host again to the annual “Hope for FireFighters” event yesterday. Once a year Firemen and Women invade the business district in downtown L.A and throw a huge block party. The goal here is to raise money for the widows and orphans of Firemen who lost their lives in the line of duty (as well as disabled Firemen who were hurt in the line of duty). Despite warm temperatures, many ventured out – wearing ties and all – to go show support for those that help keep our city safe.
The company I work for hosted its usual booth and competed in the water filled activities that filled the afternoon. It was hot, but fun.
Once again I managed to miss out the annual Rock Paper Scissors competition thrown by the Party Scammers. Every year I want to go, but end up forgetting when it is. Someone please remind me next year to check when it happens. Oh well, now the only things I really have to look forward to is watching the Incredible Hulk and Wanted later this month. Oh well, till next year.
Update: Turns out I was reading something wrong. I might actually not have missed out on the RPS Competition. I await further news.
