Recovery Food

What do you do when life’s got you down and work puts the screws to you? Why, take a few days off and grab a nice traditional Filipino breakfast to help you regroup. If the greasiness alone doesn’t pick you up, knowing that the cholesterol in your arteries rises a few points is bound to make you feel a bit better.
As many of you know, I’ve been a little down lately. I’m getting to the point where it’s better now, but I struggle with it every now and then. Sometimes, things don’t go as planned – or hell, even as expected – but in the end, we find a way to make it work. You put things behind you and realize that in the end, it was probably how it was meant to be.
It’s funny how a moment can change and painful to think about how we cope with things but one must take things in stride and not let it bog them down.
My break from work has allowed me to do a few things (besides grab a nice hearty breakfast and watch a couple of movies). I’ve found myself re-reading old newspaper articles I wrote way back in the day. You come to realize how a new perspective can shift the way one writes. I still tend to write about the same old whine and moan, however, without the same substantive flair I once had. I think my ranting has become more like ranting and less like a narrative.
In so many ways this is a new beginning, but at the same time an unwanted end. A tad expected, but vehemently denied. So, cheers to an unknown future once again. Mistakes, I made a few. I expect to make many more.
