My Meteoric Rise and Fall
by Ranil on Jul.17, 2008, under Ranting, The Internet
Earlier today I took a step towards infamy and riches. After reading the post on Mashable telling how GoDaddy open up registration for the .me extension for domain names I rushed over to GoDaddy and proceeded to buy the domain name that would make me rich, once I sold it anyways. What domain was it?
Pyrrhic Victories

Ah, the joys of relapsing. It makes one feel so worthless and almost as stupid as the guy who wanted to return the money he stole for the wallet he left behind. Yes, relapsing is never good. So, I must find solace wherever I can. Lately that’s been in my routine. A routine you say? Yes. The guy who never makes plans is now sticking to a routine. It goes as follows. Run 1 mile in the morning, eat right throughout the day, then run 1 – 2 miles in the evening along with a mild workout to tone the muscles but not bulk up. As of week 2 (yes I started this last week and forgot to blog about it) I’m still sticking with it.
An Ode To Boredom
by Ranil on Jul.14, 2008, under Life in Los Angeles
Boredom in the wrong hands can be a very dangerous thing. It may lead you to experience dizziness and feelings of inadequacy, not to mention a stupid affinity to punch immovable objects. It can cause constant refreshings of both Myspace and Facebook profiles looking for updates. It may also cause one to create a Plurk account and flood it with random musings of obscenity and histrionics. It can also be contagious, such as convincing your sister and your friend to also create Plurk accounts and fill it with obscenity and what not. Yes my friend, boredom is a dangerous thing. Fueled by caffeine it can stretch long into the night, way past a normal bed time.
The hunt for glasses is over!
by Ranil on Jul.14, 2008, under Life in Los Angeles
After nearly a year of waiting and biding my time, I can finally reveal that I have new glasses. After losing my prescription and not finding anything good online, I finally decided to go to a brick and mortar store and pick up a pair. 12 days later the glasses were finally available for pick up.
Something New: Week 1 – Riding The Bus To Work
by Ranil on Jul.11, 2008, under Something New
How do you get rid of one experience? Have 100 more to take it’s place. So, in the spirit of keeping things fresh and exciting for myself I’ve decided to drown myself in a multitude of experiences. Once a week (hopefully, if not every two weeks) I will try to do something new. Something I haven’t done in a while or something I haven’t done ever. This shall include, trying new foods, things, situations, and whatever comes to mind. This week it was riding the bus to work.
Los Angeles has a type of bus service called the Commuter Express which is basically a fast bus service for professionals that only runs during Rush Hour. This makes riding the bus from the San Fernando Valley to downtown Los Angeles even remotely feasible. With the help of my sister, I was able to plan this expedition out and hit the buses for the first time since almost 7 years ago!
