Movement to the left
by Ranil on Aug.28, 2008, under Nostalgia, Ranting
It’s one of those nights. The hour is late and I’m putting off work to sit poolside and ponder the strangeness of it all. My sister turns 25 in a few minutes and I realize how fast the years have gone by. Almost 10 years since high school and over 16 since I came the US and for the most part it’s moved so fast.
Then there’s that moment where you realize what you’ve lost in the process. A whole other life. Moments given up to get to where you need to be, even then you sometimes begin to realize, you’re not really where you need to be. Sometimes the price was too great.
A life in motion because standing still is not an option.
Something New: Week 6 – Deep Sea Fishing
by Ranil on Aug.22, 2008, under Something New
As always, a week behind and a dollar too short. This Something New is really the Something New of last week and I still have yet to find one for this week, but ignoring that, let us continue.
On an unassuming Saturday morning the ocean called to three men brave enough to step up and master its wily ways. They faced grueling obstacles both man made and nature caused. They faced sleeplessness, searing heat, and poison yet they returned home triumphant! The ocean was no match for these brave men and in return it opened its bounty to them and showered them with splendor.
Brief Interludes

It has been quite a while since I’ve posted something on my website, a sin that I shall be punished very severely for. Recent developments in my life has seen me edging further into the San Fernando Valley into an area bordering what could be seen as Ventura County! Rather than my usual update to post up the usual weekly “Something New” I figured I’d return to my roots and begin my usual tirade about things going on around the world.

Something New: Week 5 – Tennis
by Ranil on Aug.07, 2008, under Something New
Somewhere in Griffith Park a legend was reborn yesterday. This weeks something new finds me brushing off my childhood training and showing to the world, and by the world I mean my old friend Gohar, the awesomeness of my Tennis skills.
It is always a relief when someone comes up with a good idea for me to do implement for my Something New, even better when they choose to join in. With Gohar back in town from San Francisco and taking a mini-retirement her suggestion to play tennis with her was taken with great enthusiasm. So, borrowing a racket from a friend we headed out to Griffith Park to hit around a few balls.
A Birthday Celebration At Highlands
by Ranil on Aug.04, 2008, under Uncategorized
Ok, this week no Something New. Ok I did do something new, but I think the main topic of the day is a nice Happy Birthday to my friend Chris who just turned 24 on Saturday. To celebrate we headed over to Highlands on Hollywood and proceeded to frolic to loud music and hang out with friends and family. I’d say more, but it was a long weekend and I think we both have things to do right now. Enjoy the photo’s.
Btw, a Happy Birthday to my good friend and father of my God Daughter, Mark Haynes.
