Something New: Week 8 – Boogie Boarding
by Ranil on Sep.21, 2008, under Something New
Perhaps it wasn’t in my best interest to combat a cold by diving into the cold waters of the Pacific but when one receives a phone call on a Saturday afternoon to head out to Venice Beach and try to learn to surf for the first time, it’s hard to turn down. Armed with the idea that surf boards can be rented at the beach Jose, Ian, and I piled into a car and headed out west.

So as we wait for the newly formed blackholes created by the Large Hadron Collier to swallow the world as we know it I thought it would be prudent to get back into the business of blogging. I haven’t been able to keep up with doing big Something New’s every week, but I try to do little things in order to fulfill the requirement. Sometimes it’s as simple as eating dinner alone at Masa while reading the paper. Other times it’s just doing something I never thought I would do, like drive to Orange County on a whim but I still find time to get back to my home base and recoup. I think that is an important part of being yourself.

Sally finally joined the ranks of us 27 year old today. I wish her a very Happy Birthday! To celebrate her hitting yet another year (btw I forgot that it’s 27 this year and not 28 so a whole bunch of pictures are labeled 28 – apologies) the gang headed out to Blue Monkey in Hollywood to celebrate. We may be old, but we sure can drink like teenagers.
Something New: Week 7 – Cessation

Lately I’ve been doing things in an attempt to make myself into the person I need to become. A chance to be a better person. It was a difficult road getting here and somethings were harder to do than others – some in the end were easier than I thought. My Something New was about finding things that would better me and find things that I could be interested in. It was meant to broaden my horizons. So, I think the next step in all of this is to do something I never thought I could.
