Places to Eat In LA: Kyushu Ramen

In terms of Ramen has to rank up there with a nice Filipino breakfast. Braving the cold winds in the Valley my friends and I decided to head out to one of my favorite places outside of - Kyushu Ramen. This place became a local favorite of mine a few years due to its location and its selection of different kinds of . This type of should not be confused with the prepackaged you find at stores due to its more complicated nature. While the main idea stays the same - noodles and soy or miso base - the collection of vegetables and different meats and spices make a truly enjoyable experience for me.

Not having had in a while I decided to keep it simple with a nice Chashu . Chashu is a type of barbequed pork thrown added into the . Unfortunately this type of is not spicy enough to meet my needs so I added my usual repertoire of additional spices to liven up the flavor. Add some Gyoza to the mix and you have yourself a wonderful soupy dinner with friends.

The after dinner tempura ice cream was lovingly turned a work of art depicting scenes of Armenian nature. Notice the way the tempura ice cream became a snow-covered mountain?

If you ever find yourself in the Valley craving head towards Sherman Way to get yourself a nice bowl of soy based goodness.
