New from the Old

by on Nov.24, 2008

It’s fun reconnecting. After getting over the initial shock at having not seen someone in a while you can’t help but smile as you talk and catch up on the events that transpired in days gone by. Sometimes you share old stories and ponder what old acquaintances are up to. Sometimes you share new stories of the joys and pain of life. Either way it’s a chance to become a friend with someone you thought you had lost a long time ago.

I’m thankful to Facebook because it’s given me a chance to reconnect with people I thought long gone. I was never one to stay in touch – a habit I am trying to change as February looms closer and closer – but reconnecting with all these old faces (and a few interesting new ones) has been a great change to the whole “out of sight, out of mind” theory I had. I won’t be that guy with 400 friends on Facebook (ARMAN!) but I’m glad to know the people I’ve met and reconnected with through this useful tool.

So hit me up for a cup of coffee or a drink. I promise I’ll try to return your email/phone call/text message. And if I don’t then I’m probably ignoring you.
