The Dicks, Chicks, Parachutes, and a Zipline Tour

What makes a man give up a perfectly good Thanksgiving Dinner with family and friends? The chance at adventure and the opportunity to reach out and kiss the sky! It started off with an article about the kids at google installing a zipline. A few hours later and a dozen phonecalls away – the beginnings of a roadtrip to Northern California to ride the Zipline into infamy. A few days later the notion of Sky Diving fell into place. With that our roadtrip was born.
We gave up the notion of spending Thanksgiving at home and traded it for the cramped quarters of Volkswagon rabbit and dinner at a roadside Denny’s. Far from home and family on the day of thanks we gave thanks for each other and promptly drank our way through shuffleboard in Manteca, California.
Weather threatened to end our trip prematurely but we braved on and were rewarded with a most incredible experience. Late Friday afternoon we three jumped out of a perfectly functioning plane. Attached to our tandem partners we reached out and kissed the sky. 13,000 feet above the earth we left our fears behind and Kendall left a fart.
We ziplined over trees in Vallecito, California. In excitement it was a tad lackluster compared to the events of the day before but I think in the end it was managed. We flew superman style over trees and people at the rate of 40 miles per hour. We got lost in a forest and ate panini’s in a small town.
In the end we ended up in the place where Glendale began. We went to church. We had pie and coffee. We talked fashion and we talked of life and the nature of growing up. We farted and we laughed. We had touched the sky and now it was time for us to come back down to earth.
