Something New: Week 11 – Someplace New

I won’t be home for a very very long time. A few months shy of my 28th birthday I decided that it was time to explore the world. I leave behind friends, family, and people I’ve gotten close to in the last few years.
My journey takes me to strange places – well not that strange (parts of asia) and then off to Australia. I leave behind too many memories and it’s hard not to feel a little overwhelmed and a little sad. So many things will happen in my absence and so many of the faces I’ve come to know will be different in both their looks and in their personalities.
I take pleasure in knowing that this is one of the best learning experiences I can have. So saying goodbye to those I said goodbye to is bittersweet. Some I will see again and will be glad to call friend. Others I expect to never see again and their faces will be resigned to shadows in my memory.
Follow me in my adventures because you may not be able to be with me, but you’ll never have left me.

oh wow, the rating is new, yes? refrain from eating too much pinoy food! i will send some care packages when you have settled in australia. i wonder if there’s any camel crushes there… i’m jealous that you get yummy meat pies, tim tams, and lamingtons though.
