Coming from Los Angeles you learn to love a few things one of them being Mexican food. Outside of LA (and of course Mexico) finding good Mexican food has been quite a disappointment. I miss the taco trucks of LA and their burritos filled with carne asada. I’m craving the tastes and smells a land thousands of miles away.

The things I’ve seen and the things I’ve done I wouldn’t change for the world. I’ve seen beauty and sadness. I’ve jumped from waterfall and swam in blue ocean waters surrounded by white sand. I’ve met strangers who became family and strengthened ties with far away relatives. But my heart still belongs to LA and the faces that I left behind.

I starred at the water barrelling down and aimed for the place my guide had told me to. I took a breath and began to leap… no… not yet. A moment of fear and I held back. Then I reminded myself that life should be about experiencing everything and this was a great experience. So, I took a breath and lept.
Vacation Time In Borocay

I flew on a prop plane a few days ago to an island in the Pacific Ocean. I watched sailboats sail into the sunset. I swam in clear blue waters and played in white sand. I snorkeled amongst coral reefs and para sailed over it all.

It’s raining… I’ve come to the land of my birth and found it alien. A few days ago I knew the comfort of a warm running shower and today I showered with water from a well. It’s a hard life but also one that is simple. Here I am surrounded by family and that makes it seem worthwhile.
