Something New: Week 13 – Birthday Under A Southern Cross
by Ranil on May.07, 2009, under Nostalgia, Points Of Importance, Something New
Being unemployed is the pits. Being unemployed and sick is even worse. Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind sitting around doing nothing – outside of applying for jobs and reading an inordinate amount of news – but one eventually misses the routine provided by work. In all the chaos of finding a job and getting set up down under its easy to overlook ones birthday. But this year unlike most years I will be spending my birthday in a place I haven’t had a birthday in for almost 18 years.
Sally’s 27th Birthday
by Ranil on Sep.15, 2008, under Life in Los Angeles, Points Of Importance
Sally finally joined the ranks of us 27 year old today. I wish her a very Happy Birthday! To celebrate her hitting yet another year (btw I forgot that it’s 27 this year and not 28 so a whole bunch of pictures are labeled 28 – apologies) the gang headed out to Blue Monkey in Hollywood to celebrate. We may be old, but we sure can drink like teenagers.
A Birthday Celebration At Highlands
by Ranil on Aug.04, 2008, under Uncategorized
Ok, this week no Something New. Ok I did do something new, but I think the main topic of the day is a nice Happy Birthday to my friend Chris who just turned 24 on Saturday. To celebrate we headed over to Highlands on Hollywood and proceeded to frolic to loud music and hang out with friends and family. I’d say more, but it was a long weekend and I think we both have things to do right now. Enjoy the photo’s.
Btw, a Happy Birthday to my good friend and father of my God Daughter, Mark Haynes.
Fathers Day Spanking
by Ranil on Jun.13, 2008, under Life in Los Angeles, Ranting
Could someone please do me a favor and spank the RIAA? Never have I heard of a more despicable company and I read a lot of the consumerist! Has piracy cost music industries revenue? Perhaps, but probably not as much as they claim. Maybe it’s just the lack of good music that’s cost the industry money. The RIAA like Metallica are a bunch of whiny cry babies that are just a tad sue happy. They just don’t get technology. I really hope someone slaps them just to kind of wake them up to the new age we’re in.
Finding Kenny…
by Ranil on May.29, 2008, under Nostalgia, Points Of Importance
I need to say a special thank you Jenn for going through all the trouble of calling Dreamworld in Australia and convincing them to ship me a new Kenny for my birthday. The idea was to repair old Kenny with clothes and parts from new Kenny. A great idea (unless you ask Yuri), however when new Kenny finally arrived, after a very long journey from Australia, the plan fell through. As you can see, new Kenny doesn’t look anything like old Kenny. Unfortunately new Kenny looks like a very shoddier (budget downsizing) version of old Kenny and the clothes are horribly different. Old Kenny is beginning to show his age. His shoes are becoming horribly worn from many years of… well… just being around. I hear “Build-A-Bear” sells shoes that can possibly replace his worn one’s now, but I have yet to actually go check it out.
